Question: Do you have a CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) on your investment team?

Answer: Yes, a member of our team is both a CFP® and an AIF® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary), in addition to the designations held by other members of the group. Our firm founder and principal, Margaret R. McDowell, ChFC®, AIF®, is a Chartered Financial Consultant and an AIF® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary). We also have an in-house attorney on staff.

Question: Will I always have access to my money? How do I disengage from our relationship if I so choose?

Answer: Your money remains yours. We simply invest it through a trading platform at our custodian, Charles Schwab. All checks contributing to your accounts should be made payable to Charles Schwab and Co, Inc. We work with a handshake agreement. Should either you as a client or we as your investment advisor wish to terminate the relationship, a simple phone call is all it takes.

Question: How will I be notified of trades in my accounts? How do I access my account balance?

Answer: You receive a “real time” electronic notification of all activity in your account. You maintain 24-7 access to your account online and receive a monthly statement from Charles Schwab.

Question: Can you manage my 401(k)? How do I transfer my existing accounts to you for management if I desire?

Answer: Yes, we can manage virtually any type of account. We have a dedicated transfer team that will complete the process efficiently and painlessly for you.

Question: How often will we meet to discuss my portfolio?

Answer:  We conduct a formal review once annually, but should you desire a conference at any time to discuss any aspect of your accounts, or any other financial issues, we are happy to meet with you  any time.

Question: What is your fee schedule?

Answer: Your account is billed electronically, monthly in arrears, based on the account balance, and at our agreed upon rate. Our normal rate schedule is:

Above $5,000,000 =  .75% Annually

$2,000,000 to $5,000,000 =  .90% Annually

$1,000,000 to $1,999,999 =  1.0% Annually

$500,000 to $999,999 = 1.2% Annually

$250,000 to $499,999 = 1.3% Annually

Under $250,000 = 1.4% Annually

Question: Will you assist other members of my family with their investment portfolios?

Answer: Yes, and we will combine their assets with yours in order to offer all of your family members the lowest possible fee.

Question: Can you manage trusts?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Where will you custody my assets?

Answer: We will utilize the trading platform/custodial relationship with Charles Schwab and Co., Inc.

Question: If I need income generated from my investments, can you design a strategy for that?

Answer: Income generation has long been a specialty of Arbor Wealth Management.
